EDWARD DE BONO'S MESSAGES - 17th July 2000
de Bono Code
In September a new book of mine is being
published. This book will upset a large number of people. It will upset those
minds that are usually upset by my work. It will upset all the literary people
who believe that language is wonderful and perfect
In the book I suggest that language is the
biggest barrier to human progress because language is an encyclopedia of
ignorance. Old perceptions are frozen into language and force us to look at the
world in an old fashioned way.
Because language is good at description we forget
how very poor language is at perception. On neuro-physiological grounds,
description and perception are totally different. Failure to realise this
difference is what makes literary people so proud of the sufficiency of
language. In the book I put forward a new framework which allows us to perceive
complex situations instantly.
The book is being published in the UK. I shall
write about it further in other messages. Order
'de Bono Code' now!(Ed)
