MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 9th December 2002

Book Factory I am thinking of setting up a 'book factory'. This has been done before in various ways. There are certain fiction themes that I have in mind but do not have the time or energy (or perhaps expertise) to work upon. The idea would be to spell out these themes and to invite different authors to write on those themes. The material, if selected, would appear under the name of the author. Royalties from an eventual book would be distributed in accordance with the proportion of the book contributed by each author. Seventeen percent of the royalties would be set aside for organising the book, selection of material, provision of themes etc. I would be interested to hear from anyone who might like to get involved in such an operation. What I have in mind at present are children's books - and even a Harry Potter type of book.
