On a recent visit to the U.S.A. I was giving a talk in Greensboro NC. During the question period a young man from New York, called Reuben, told how he had read a book of mine many years ago and this had led him to setting up his business. Subsequently, I had lunch with Reuben in New York. I was impressed by the energy of his entrepreneurship. He told me that he had sold $100 million worth of jewellery since setting up in business.
I receive a fair number of stories of how people have read one of my books and how this had helped them in successful businesses. Now it may be that the book was simply a trigger at the right moment. It may be that the book gave the reader confidence in his or her own thinking - which may not have been the case at school. There may be many possibilities. But if a book can lead to $100 million in sales, might it not be worth $250? 'WHY SO STUPID' is
