A few days ago I was in a plane that was coming in to land at St Louis, Missouri. The plane was within two or three minutes of landing and at an estimated height of two hundred feet. Suddenly the plane picked up speed and climbed again.
The pilot later explained that there had been another plane on the runway. If this is so, then this is serious enough.
Some of the passengers felt that the wheels had not been lowered because when the wheels are lowered there is a sort of judder which is felt in the plane - and this seemed to be absent.
Whatever the true story it does seem rather serious and was insufficiently explained to the passengers. Date of incident was 11th October 2003.
