MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 22th December 2003
Internet Books
I am thinking of publishing some books via the internet. The procedure would be simple. Any person wishing to publish the books would obtain a licence (to cost US$1) which would set out the terms of publication. That person would then be free to publish the books in any form and to sell them at any price anywhere. There would be no legal obligation to pass any royalties or fees on to me - but you may choose to do so if very successful. The terms of the licence would be very clear (no additions and no alterations etc.) and any breach would trigger a substantial penalty. Let me know what you think of this proposed procedure (to: edwdebono@msn.com Subject: Books). The books would be very short and almost pamphlet in form.
