MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 19th October 2009

"Think before it is too late"

I have received many comments following the publication of my latest book with the title "THINK before it is too late". In that book I claim that the biggest problem facing the world today is not climate change but inadequate thinking. We are very complacent about our thinking because it has seemed to serve us so well in science. This is true but in other areas such as human relations and constructive thinking we have not done well at all. Argument is a very poor way of exploring a subject but remains the main method in government and courts of law. Teaching parallel thinking to juries in court (Grant Todd) resulted in swifter and unanimous decsions. Better thinking methods are available. Why does it take so long to introduce them?
