Where are the thinking tools and frameworks to to found? Many of those setting up thinking clubs will already know my work well enough to know these tools. From time to time I shall introduce new tools here (or on a special conference page). Those who are impatient can use the following sources.

CoRT Thinking tools:
These can be found on a new CD ROM (to be available April 1998 - details of which will be given on this site)
In printed form they can be obtained from:

Seven of the tools can also be found in the book: "de Bono's Course in Thinking" (published as a book by the BBC (London) or Facts on File (New York)

Training in the Six Hats programme, the Lateral Thinking programme and the DATT programme can be obtained through APTT accredited trainers (see site for details).

With regards to the tools of lateral thinking the most relevant book would be 'Serious Creativity' published by Harper Business, New York.

The Six Hats framework can also be found in the book 'Six Thinking Hats' published by Penguin.

If you have in your thinking club a member who has any of these books or who knows the methods then that member can help others. Unfortunately, experience has taught me that many people who claim to know the methods get them totally wrong. If it far better for members to learn the methods first hand and for themselves. It also happens that people messup the methods by mixing them in with other things. Whiskey tastes good and so does red wine but this does not mean that a mixture of whiskey and red wine will be better than either!

As usual some people will want to get as much as possible without spending any money at all. This is not how most people regard a hobby or an enjoyment. They are prepared to invest in a hobby and to pay for a meal in a restaurant.

If the organisers of a thinking club wish to charge for attendance or membership that is up to them provided the amount is not exaggerated. They want to cover the cost of materials, printouts, coffee etc.
