DATT

DATT (Direct Attention Thinking Tools) is a training course for:

Thinking skills
Decision making
Problem solving

DATT has been derived from the CoRT Thinking Programme and aims at giving 10 simple strategies for sharpening perception and focusing thinking in a more comprehensive, effective and efficient way. The tools create a framework for defining a situation and give a broad and inclusive viewpoint. The framework will improve the ability to consider consequences before action is taken.

The way we see the world around us is our perception of it. These perceptions determine the decisions we make and what we do. Perception is probably the most important part of our thinking. Unfortunately, most mistakes (up to 90%) in thinking are mistakes in perception - seldom in processing or logic.

The DATT tools can be quickly learnt. One of the easiest ways to use DATT is to think of it as 'software for the brain'. Once you have learnt the tools you can double click on any of the tools to use it in any situation.

The course is designed to be taught to every employee in an organisation. Every person grapples with decisions every day of their life - DATT tools help make the right decision.

The DATT tools are simple, powerful and proven - proven over 25 years.

The 10 DATT Tools:

  1. Consequences and Sequels
  2. Plus, Minus, Interesting
  3. Recognise, Analyse, Divide
  4. Consider All Factors
  5. Aims, Goals, Objectives
  6. Alternatives, Possibilities, Choices
  7. Other People's Views
  8. Key Values Involved
  9. First Important Priorities
  10. Design/Decision, Outcome, Channels, Action

DATT trained employees will outperform others - they will learn "How To":

be a strong and confident decision maker

quickly and accurately weigh risks against rewards

consistently "make the right call"

reach optimum solutions more quickly than before

uncover the hidden opportunities in 'problems'

use 'what if' thinking to avoid costly mistakes
