Guesthouses do get booked up in this busy and picturesque university town and you should make your booking early. Prices given cover the range of rooms offered. When enquiring (at both guesthouses and small hotels) you should check whether the room is single or twin, with or without en suite facilities, and whether breakfast is continental or full English. If taking a bus on the Banbury Road to Cavendish Road the number 2 or number 7 going north to Kidlington stops at Squitchey Lane about three minutes' walk away.
Cavendish Road near Summertown is some 4 miles from the city centre. There is an excellent coach service to Oxford from central bus station at Heathrow airport which runs every half hour and takes 70 minutes to reach Oxford coach station at Gloucester Green*. Frequent coaches also run from Victoria coach station in central London and take 90 minutes. A regular fast train service from Paddington London takes one hour to Oxford train station. Taxis are available at both stations and the fare to Cavendish Road is approximately #6.
