HOW TO RUN
THE LESSONS
On the following pages are sets of lesson notes to accompany the CoRT student’s notes. In practice, teachers should read through the lesson notes before the lesson and mark the items they are going to use. During the lesson itself the teacher should use the notes in conjunction with the student’s notes which appear as insets in the lesson notes.
NOTES ON STARRING
: **The practice items have been carefully designed to he usable across a broad range of ages and abilities. Naturally, a higher degree of thinking skill is demanded from the more able student even if the practice item is the same. Some of the practice items are starred in order to show that these items are more suitable for older students. This does not mean that these cannot he used with younger students but that the teacher should use the other items first In the same was, the unstarred items can also be used with older and more able students Teachers are encouraged to modify the items and to adapt them to local circumstances or news items.
