I am looking for "communicators' not agents. There are things that need to be communicated which I, myself, do not have the time, energy or even skill to communicate.
There are people who are genuinely motivated to do something to make the world a better place. They could give money to child care, medical research, the reduction of poverty, a new library for a university, the spread of religious values.
In my very biased view, there is nothing more fundamental to the future of the human race than better thinking. This underlies all other activities. It is the difference between better driving skills and the repair of cars and human bodies as the result of poor driving skills. One is 'fundamental' the other is 'patching up'.
So, suppose I wanted to raise $50 milliuon to set up a genuine Centre for Thinking that would work to improve out human thinking software. I have no doubt that it can be done. There is accumulating evidence to suggest this across a broad spectrum from Down's syndrome to Nobel prize winners, from illiterate miners to top executives etc.
As a 'communicator' you would communicate this vision to those who mighjt otherwise never hear about it, nor imagine it themselves. There are so many worth while causes in the world that it is sometimes difficult to think of things beyond 'patching up'.
If, as a result of your communication you raised $50 million then $5 million would be yours. The remainder would go to a Foundation. I do not want a cent of it myself.
As we enter the n3ew millenium, I can think of nothing more important.
