MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 11th April 2005 SILVER
Another of the medals in my book 'THE SIX VALUE MEDALS' is the Silver Medal
The Silver Medal is about 'organisational values'. The organisation may be a business corporation, it maybe a family, it may be a government or it may be a charity. What are the values that matter to the organisation - as an organisation.
Survival is obviously a key value. Profits and shareholder value are important. Internal harmony and problem-solving also matter.
In a family, communication might be an important value. Another value might MEDALS do overlap. For example, respect for human values (Gold Medal values) in an organisation should lead to harmony and increased productivity (Silver Medal values). At any moment, however, attention isn directed to the Silver Medal values as such - and not on how they might be delivered.
