MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 5th December 2005 Riots and car burning
Most people will have read about or seen on television the riots and car burning in France. Leaving aside the underlying reasons for the riots, how would you cope with them? How could diminish the rioting and bring it to an end? Eventually a tiring factor does come in but do we have to wait for that? What sort of action would end the rioting - even at a much earlier stage? If you were to spray rioting young men with oestrogen that would be terrifying as it would reduce their libido and cause them to grow breasts. Such a procedure would not be socially acceptable.
