MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 5th June 2006 font>"H+ a new religion?"
My new book "H+" has just been published in the UK (by Vermillion, a division of Random House). The full title is "H+ a new religion?".
The origin of the book was the realisation that no esxisting religion emphasised humour as such. Zen does deal with perceptual change but that is not humour as such. Humour is the key lubricant of life. Humour is the best antidote both to despair and to arrogance. Humour is the encouragement not to take yourself too seriously and also to try other possible perceptions.
The "H+" stands for: Humour, Happiness, Health, Hope, Help and Human.
Most religions are about sins and things you should not do. H+ has no sins but 'pons'. A pon is a small thing you do to help others or to help the world. Everyone sets an agenda of pons for the day. Each time you carry out a pon you get a sense of achievement.
