MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 17th July 2006 WHY SO STUPID? - comments
The publication of my book, "WHY SO STUPID?", led to some interesting comments from readers. The competition I ran was rather disappointing. There were few replies and these were not very good. Those replyintg did not seem to have actually read the book - and that was the main point of the competition. I shall be re-examining the entries to see if I can identify any winners.
If you set the rules of a game then you can be very complacent about following these rules. So it is with our thinking habits and systems. We have reasonably good software derived from GG3 (Greekn Gang of 3) and it simply does not occur to us that there is far more to thinking than this. It will take time for that realisation to sink in because educators, understandbly, are the most complacent of all with the game they try to teach.
