MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 18th December 2006 Communication
Communication could be described as a 'selection of noises' to transfer information. If all noises were in use there would be no communication. In the same way the huge potential of the internet means that all noises are available. So how do we get communication value. Presumably through the selection of noises that we choose. This suggests a filter system. If you are programed to respond to blondes then you more easily notice blondes.
If our filters are programed by culture, experience and upbringing then how do those filters get changed. The paradox is that the more free the information the less the chance of changing the filters.
