MESSAGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 29th September 2008

Edward de Bono Thinking Club T6.

There should be six people. For more people or less obvious adjustments can be made.

Each person notes down a subject. These could range widely.
......arranged marriages
......fish and chips
......yoga
......credit crunch
......lipstick
......etc

A throw of the dice determines which of the six subjects is going to be used first.

A throw of the dice determines which person is going to think and answer first. It then follows around in a clockwise fashion from this person to the next.

A throw of the dice determines the nature of the thinking and answer. The mode is held until all players have responded.

Types of response:

What is the relevance or interest of this subject for you?

Do a P.M.I. (Plus, Minus, Interesting) on the subject.

Suggest some improvements in the subject area.

Suggest a new and entirely different way of doing things.

Do an O.P.V. (Other people's views) on all the people who might be involved.

What would happen if the subject was abolished. Do a C&S (consequences:immediate, short term, medium and long term).

When everyone has answered in the mode indicated by the thrown dice the dice is thrown one more time and the new mode is used by everyone in turn.

A throw of the dice determines which person has to sum up and give the most important points of the discussion.

Start again with a new subject.
